OVERVIEW

Folding arm awnings are a neat solution for providing shade to outdoor living areas. Their efficient design means even when fully extended, there are no posts, struts or brackets to get in the way; and they tuck away neatly into a small, unobtrusive cassette when retracted. A wide range of fabric options gives your customer flexibility over the level of shade protection they desire, and they’re bound to find the right colour or pattern to accent their home.

FUNCTIONS

This style of awning uses a hinged arm structure which folds out to provide shade, and folds in to tuck neatly away when not in use. With the arms providing the supporting structure for the shade, there are no posts, struts or brackets to clutter up the outdoor area.
For extra versatility, folding arm awnings can also be fitted with adjustable pitch, allowing the angle of the awning to be changed from horizontal, to almost vertical. This gives you greater shade control, especially against low afternoon sun, keeping your customers home cooler and their power bills smaller.

 OPTIONS & FEATURES

STRATOS I (OPEN AWNING)

Stratos I is our cost effective, high quality folding arm option. The fabric roll, arms and back bar are are not enclosed within the aluminium cassette.

STRATOS III (SEMI CASETTE)

Stratos 3 is our most popular style with an elegant look. The semi-cassette system uses an aluminium pelmet which covers the top of the blind and large front bar to give a sleek style.

DISCUS (FULL CASSETTE)

The Discus is the SABS full cassette option meaning when retracted the cassette and front bar close together to conceal all working parts. This provides optimal protection for the fabric and working components against dirt, rain and humidity

ADJUSTABLE PITCH CONTROL

Stratos I & Stratos III come with optional ‘Selectapitch’ functionality which allows the user to change the angle of the awning to block the morning or afternoon sun.

MOTOR OR CRANK OPERATION

All SABS Folding Arm Awnings can be motorized allowing the click of a remote control button to move the awning in and out. We offer the Nice and Somfy motorisation options and use wind and motion sensors for automated protection in windy conditions.

HIGH QUALITY ARMS

The Arm quality is the most important feature of any Folding Arm Awning. Our range uses tensioned, spring loaded, PVC coated triple steel cables that provide added protection against corrosion. These individually hung cables provide excellent wind stability and fabric tension.

IDEAL FOR HIGH CORROSION AREAS

Our patented brackets and operating components are made of aluminium with pre-treated, baked enamel finish and the construction hardware is made of marine grade 316 stainless steel.

EXTRUDED ALUMINIUM 

Our blind profiles will stand the test of time and provide strong, solid fixings that will not rust or vibrate in harsh conditions.
